Our oldest daughter turned 17 today which means a little over 17 years ago I created the first figurine for Kelley as a labor talisman.  I wanted her to have something to grasp and concentrate on during delivery. That first baby still sits on her desk. That quality of attachment is what distinguishes the treasured objects in our lives from the rest of the stuff that collects around us.

I remember the night she was born. My memory of that night is an integral part of the story of that first silver baby. The afternoon I modeled the figure is also embedded in the dna of that particular piece; that afternoon is where the story of every Brooklyn Bambini figurine we make begins, in fact.

I believe objects have life stories just like people do. Over time as the moments of your life gather around your baby sculpture, the story it tells will be yours.
