Fortunately some of the weight gained in pregnancy is permanent--the child you will bear :)  Memorialize the fleeting transformation of pregnancy with our intimately-sized evocative description of the expectant female form. She stands only 3.75" tall, is 2" across her base and weighs 2 pounds in solid bronze.

As a sculptor Brian is endlessly inspired to interpret the human form. He conceived our Expectant Venus first in wax; she was then cast in bronze and finally finished with a unique patina. Patinas are more alchemy than precise science thus each one is distinct to the individual piece; no two will ever be the same.

Bronze is a material that develops its own history, meaning its color will change over time as the surface becomes enriched through handling. The oils in skin reacting with the metal will bring out warmer tones on the points of greatest contact, while the recesses will remain darker.

Our small sculptures are produced using the lost wax method of casting wherein each piece begins as a wax figure that is coated in a material that hardens into a ceramic shell into which the liquid metal is poured. When the metal cools the ceramic shell is broken away to release the sculpture. The ratio of wax models to finished pieces is 1:1, assigning these exquisite birth sculptures treasured heirloom status.

The Expectant Venus comes nestled in a branded flannel bunting jeweler’s cloth and bears both the artist's signature and our maker's mark guaranteeing its authenticity.

Our four-ply polishing cloth contains a premium, non-rouge, non-toxic and fully biodegradable cleanser encased in 100% supple soft cotton, perfectly designed to shine gold, platinum, silver and bronze without scratching or removing the finish. Polish with the inner cloth to remove dirt and tarnish, then wipe with the outer cloth to provide a finishing luster.

Please allow 2 weeks for the creation and delivery of your Brooklyn Bambini Expectant Venus although often times our sculptures will arrive earlier.
